Bobby Brown was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of driving under the influence in Los Angeles. His lawyer, Tiffany Feder has disputed the claims, saying in a statement to People, "Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and Mr. Brown was not driving erratically."

According to reports, the 43-year-old "Humpin' Around" singer was pulled over in Reseda, Calif. at around 12:20 p.m. PST for driving while talking on his phone. Feder confirmed that Brown "Was speaking on his cell phone."

California Highway Patrol officer Mike Harris told KTLA that officers pulled the singer over and administered a field sobriety test. It has not been confirmed as to what impaired Brown, but he was taken into custody and briefly held at Van Nuys jail.

"Mr. Brown has not been convicted of anything associated with this incident," continued his lawyer's statement. "Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously and an investigation is underway. The legal process shall run its course."

Just last week, a coroner's report revealed Brown's ex-wife, Whitney Houston, died from accidental drowning. The findings also listed heart disease and cocaine use as contributing factors.
