NEW YORK (AP) — A lawyer for the accused madam of a multimillion-dollar New York brothel says he wants to meet with prosecutors to discuss a possible plea deal.
Lawyer Gary Greenwald told the judge hearing Anna Gristina's case Thursday that he would like to meet with the district attorney's office "with a view toward a disposition or resolving the matter."
Prosecutors didn't immediately respond.
Prosecutors say Gristina provided prostitutes to wealthy clients for 15 years. Gristina has pleaded not guilty. She's been held on $2 million bond since February.
Her previous lawyer, Peter Gleason, had offered his $2.5 million loft for Gristina's bond, saying she was broke. He invited Gristina and her family to move in, with her under house arrest.
The judge made no decision on the unusual plea proposal.
